Sonneberg Wolfhausen - Concept
The ecumenical community in Wolfhausen commissioned LIGHT ON with lighting up the new church centre and 14 residential buildings around it. The church’s large skylight was ideal for many lighting technology solutions.
In the pilot project LIGHT ON demonstrated a – back then still new – application using holographic elements as well as the later realised static light deflection. Using the system developed by Bartenbach only soft zenith light is conducted into the room. The direct sunlight is reflected outside by a mirror, which also prevents great thermal stress in the room. Calculations showed that no artificial light is necessary even to light up the room perfectly at eight o’clock in the morning. On duller days three one metre diameter mirrors also fully light up the room in combination with wall lights.
